IPL 2025 New Rules!
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced several key rule changes for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season:
Saliva Use Restored: Bowlers can now apply saliva to shine the ball, a practice reinstated after discussions with team captains, enhancing traditional swing techniques.- 'Second Ball' Rule Introduced: To counteract dew's impact during night matches, umpires will inspect the ball after the 11th over of the second innings; if excessive dew is present, a new ball will be provided.
- Impact Player Rule Continues: Teams can substitute one player during a match, offering strategic flexibility and more opportunities for uncapped players.
Expanded DRS: The Decision Review System now includes referrals for height-based no-balls and wides outside the off-stump, utilizing Hawk-Eye technology for precise decisions.
